A Non-Profit corporation to honor and recognize the accomplishments of Lauretta Schimmoler, the first female to be involved in acquiring the land and then manage that airport in the United States, Port Bucyrus - Crawford County Airport - 17G - Bucyrus, Ohio.
She then moved to California, was active in the 99’s (their first secretary), and then in the mid-30’s started the “Aerial Nurse Corps of America” which ultimately became the foundation of the United States Air Force Flight Nurses. She played a significant roll in aviation history both locally and nationally.
Saturday - May 24, 2025 starting at 8:00 AM at Port Bucyrus Airport (17G) Crawford County Airport with a pancake breakfast hosted by Kiwanis. This is a fly-in pancake breakfast only.

We have just formed the Lauretta Schimmoler Museum Inc. a 501 (c)(3) to educate and promote the many accomplishments of Lauretta during her life.
